When Sculpture meets 3D printing – Final Chapter:SUBDUE

As part of Cultural July, ” Gen Z-Art Series,” the exhibition “When Sculpture Meets 3D Printing” is presented as a complete trilogy, spanning Chapters 1, 2, and now, the final chapter. For those who have already experienced the first two chapters, this one will serve as a crucial bridge to the next; for first-time visitors, it will offer a deeper understanding of artist Zhang Zhe’s creative process.

The first chapter, “The Alchemy Furnace,” utilized 3D printing technology to realize Zhang Zhe’s 20-year-old dream of conceptual art. The second chapter, “Trump.Buddha,” raised thought-provoking questions from a childlike perspective. Now, the final chapter, “SUBDUE” utilizes sophisticated techniques to fully realize each work through 3D printing, filling the entire exhibition space with a brand-new format: a solo joint exhibition.

These works not only fuse sculpture, ink painting, video, design, and technology, but also delve into the applications and challenges faced by Generation Z in the face of rapidly evolving technology. Regardless of the medium or tool used, the ultimate core lies in the original content of the creator.

We invite you to explore the infinite possibilities of the intersection of sculpture and technology.
